Welcome to Suncoast Riders!

Suncoast Riders is a casual motorcycle riding group based out of Port Charlotte Florida and is organized by me, Adrian Kingston. It started out as a meetup group on meetup.com but I have moved it to my own server now. Our group is all about having fun on two wheels! We generally encompass the Fort Myers/Tampa area, and everywhere in between. Whether you have a Harley or Honda, enduro or street bike, we encourage you to join us on cruises and social events. There is plenty to see and explore on a motorcycle in our area and most rides start from Port Charlotte Florida but you can join us anywhere along the way! All the rides have a map of the route, so check to see which ones come your way and we look forward to seeing you on the road. It doesn't hurt to sign up if you live in the area, its free! We are all riding for the same reason, that's what is bringing us together. To all the recently signed up members - WELCOME and please come to a ride as soon as you can, there are many more rides in our futures. Stay close to this website and when you see something that interests you, sign on and we will see you there and we welcome everyone's input for ideas. Please do actually RSVP whether you intend to come to a ride or not. If there are no YES RSVP's for a particular location, we don't stop there and we don't wait for Maybe's. Any members inactive for three months or more will be removed. If you are a snowbird, just check in once in a while during the summer to keep your membership active. See you at our next ride! As always this website is a work in progress and if you are used to similar groups hosted at meetup.com you will notice that not all similar functionality is yet implemented, but what we have is enough to get us on the road and its free!

How to Join Suncoast Riders

Just click here! Suncoast Riders consists of this simple website that describes the future and past rides and a private mailing list on yahoo groups. After you fill in the Signup Form, I receive an email with your information. I then add you to the mailing list and give you a userID and password for this site which I then email back to you. When new rides are planned, I just email the yahoo group and everyone on the list receives an email with a link to the page that describes the new ride. Anyone interested can then RSVP Yes, No or Maybe and add a comment so I know who to expect on the ride. Only registered users can RSVP and see the RSVP's and comments of other members. If you want to leave the group, you can just remove yourself from the Yahoo group mailing list and when I see the notification, I'll also remove your userID from this website. Some sections of these pages are private to the members of our group, so if you are not yet a registered user, just click on "Cancel" when your browser asks you for a password and you will just get an "Authorization Failure" displayed in the private sections, but you will still be able to see the ride descriptions and the pictures of all the fun we have! Registered Users can see everything, RSVP and attend rides.

Rides prior to 11/28/09 have been copied from the old http://www.meetup.com/Suncoast-Riders site and I'll try to move as many of them as possible before that goes away.
